Choosing a variant
16CH vs 32CH — count your circuits, then add a few. Expanding later means another board and another PSU.
RS485 — for Modbus sensors, energy meters and inverters
CAN — for battery management and inverter comms
RTC — an onboard real-time clock, so schedules survive a network outage. Worth having if the board runs anything that matters when the broker is unreachable.
Notes from fitting these
Use the wired ethernet. At this channel count you're controlling too much to trust WiFi.
External PSU required — size it for all relays energised at once, not the typical case.
Plan the enclosure and the cable entry before you order. Thirty-two channels is a lot of cable.
