Genuine Mean Well HDR series DIN rail power supplies — the ultra-slim step-shape units that fit a consumer unit or automation enclosure without eating half the rail.
This is the supply we fit behind our own relay boards and LED installs. The HDR range is well regarded for a reason: quiet, efficient, and it holds its output voltage under load rather than sagging the moment a relay coil pulls in.
Choosing a model
HDR-15 — 15W. Single ESP32 board, a couple of sensors.
HDR-30 — 30W. A relay board plus peripherals.
HDR-60 — 60W. Short runs of LED tape, multi-channel relay boards.
Available in 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V and 48V. Match the voltage to your load — 5V for WS2812 tape, 12V for WS2815 and most relay boards, 24V for longer runs where volt drop matters.
Fitting
These are mains-input devices and must be installed by a competent person, in an enclosure, in line with BS 7671. Keep the mains and SELV sides properly segregated (section 528).
