Why Zigbee rather than WiFi or Bluetooth
Battery life. A CR2032 lasts roughly a year. WiFi sensors of this size do not come close.
No BLE proxy needed. Bluetooth sensors need something nearby listening. Zigbee mesh-routes through any mains-powered Zigbee device you already have.
It doesn't touch your WiFi. Twenty of these will not clog a router.

Zigbee2MQTT, ZHA, Home Assistant, Hubitat, and Tuya/Smart Life if you prefer the app route. Reports temperature and relative humidity, with the current reading on the front so it's useful even to someone who doesn't know it's connected to anything.
